Annual Show 2009

Lists of Class Winners , Trophy Winners , and Sponsors & Donors follow this short report.

The 2009 Annual Show was held on Saturday, 15th August, at The Timperley Methodist Church on Stockport Road in the centre of Timperley Village near Altrincham.

We had fewer exhibitors than last year, 15 compared with 21, partly due to illness but there were some good plants on show despite the very variable weather during the growing season. The number of exhibits making it to the showbench was down from 140 last year to 92 this year, only 2 more than two years ago, but our judge, Vic Winterbottom, commented on the high quality of the plants.

As usual the volunteer helpers worked hard making sure that all the visitors who braved the rather mixed weather and the road works along Stockport Road were able to have questions answered, buy plants and raffle tickets, and sit down with a cup of tea or coffee and a piece of cake.
